I haven't seen Avatar... I probably shan't bother to, either...
This isn't because I don't think it'd be any good - on the contrary, I expect it would be amazing - but I simply can't be bothered... What a horrid, lazy, apathetic, bone-idle, layabout-ish attitude!
And yet, it's always the same, with films - "movies" as they are often known... I rarely go to the cinema to see a film - in 2009, I think I went once to the Odeon in Norwich, to see "Slumdog Millionaire" with my sister... It was good, I enjoyed it - thanks for asking...
Truth be told, I'm not sure of the reason for this indifference to the cinema experience... The closest I can come is "I've never liked popcorn" - hardly a worthy justification, is it?
Anyone who knows me will know that I think very little of doing things "on principle" only - it's a incredibly silly habit that too many people get into... So I do not eschew the movies out of principle - purely, as I have said, out of laziness! I know that I'm missing out on seeing a lot of great films, and I'm not that fussed...
Well, wasn't that interesting?

I went to see Avatar on Thursday and nearly fell asleep during the first half - partly because I had had little sleep then got up early to get the train to Norwich and partly cause it was a slow burner (stunning visually/musically, though). I see what you mean, though with me it's not always laziness that keeps me away. I have to be very motivated to see a film either due to anticipation levels, or I have to know i'm never going to see it 'like that' again - such as avatar in 3d. Or it generally has to be quite an engaging film because I get too bored and fidgety to pay attention long enough, unlike with a dvd or something where you can pause and rewind to catch bits you missed when you got distracted. But yeh the proportion of films I say 'that looks good/I wanna see that' to, compared to those I actually make an effort to go and see is probably rather unbalanced! Jess
we are so different :) i saw avatar like 4 times in theatre. now that's a bit much, but it was amazing and the colors were beautiful and.. yeah.
there is something wrong with Sam. 4times. I can't stand seeing the same film twice in 6 months. unlike my sister.
